About the Estate
The fictional Alderwick estate began as a walled orchard and small farm before its conversion into a country club. Its visitor experience is deliberately straightforward: clearly named facilities, published fees and a team for each type of enquiry. Our grounds contain managed woodland, a shallow ornamental lake and signed walking paths. Guests should stay on marked routes because several paths pass close to active golf holes. We welcome both members and occasional visitors without presenting membership as a requirement for every activity.
Visitor information
- Our story
- Alderwick opened as a golf club in 1998. The hotel followed in 2008, the health club in 2014 and the refurbished Meadow Course in 2023. These dates are part of the venue's fictional history.
- Estate size
- The estate covers 145 acres, including both courses, the hotel gardens and a woodland walk. The ornamental lake is not a swimming lake, fishing venue or boating facility.
- Our teams
- The fictional general manager is Rowan Ellis. Golf operations are led by Priya Hart, hotel operations by Jamie Vale and the health club by Morgan Reed. Personal staff contact details are not published.
- Independent ownership
- Alderwick is presented as an independent venue operated by the fictional Alderwick Leisure Ltd. It is not affiliated with Branston Golf and Country Club or any real hotel, golf or leisure chain.
- Woodland walk
- The signed woodland loop is 1.8 kilometres and usually takes 35 minutes at a gentle pace. It is open to hotel residents and club visitors during daylight; muddy sections make it unsuitable for guaranteed step-free access.
- Quiet surroundings
- Recreational drone flying is not permitted. Commercial filming requires written management permission in advance, and permission for a wedding does not automatically include permission to operate a drone.
